Woodpecker: “I hope I can hang on and get some morsels.”
Junco bird: “I hope the woodpecker leaves soon. It’s cold, wet, snowing and I’m hungry.”
Photographer: “I hope this shot turns out.”
We’re finally getting some snow in our area…but a snowstorm doesn’t stop the birds from visiting!

Haha, nice conversation between the two. I think there is enough room for both birds to share the meal.
By the last line, I guess the bird got up on the suet.
This is neat.

like the theme and how you have made the story around it-that’s a very polite junco-think that is an oregon junco-don’t see them often here.
Great shot, I really feel winter! The haiku is yours too?

Thank you so much for feeding the birds as it is so hard for them in bad weather.. This is too cute…Michelle
More than ever the birds needs feeding when a storm is on its way. Another lovely picture from you. A delightful composition, so well balanced and strong. I like the bluish tint of the picture, makes us feel the winter and the cold. And it’s a nice little story you put together with the words. Love it.
Very cute. My CC pic is up too.

Waiting ‘his’ turn…which ‘he’ knows will come!
I have been thinking of painting a woodpecker feeding…and this photo has convinced me.
Love the scenario you ‘painted’ here, Fergiemoto!
Absolutely delightful, we say, LOL. That’s how the universe is when a woodpecker, Junco, and photographer meet around the birdfeeder in the backyard. Ethel and Tom

I posted a poem titled Hope that used fledgling as a metaphor two days after you posted this but I have not visited your site previously. Love that “Six degress of separation” theory. Also love your blog, particularly the heading quote.
