Rigid symmetry

Unnatural nature

I took this photo several years ago at the Palace of Versailles in France.
This week’s WordPress photo challenge is:
“Arranged – Sometimes you chance across things which were arranged on purpose, or on a whim – find something in your environment which was arranged by a human hand for others to enjoy!”
Perfect response to the challenge!
This is an amazing photo. I’ve seen lots of photos of Versailles, but never one like this. Unique perspective, and great take on the challenge. You make me want to visit there!
It’s just beautiful!
A very good response. You hit the mark with your words under the photo.
Unnatural nature … good description, but still a beautiful setting.
Ooooh, might be my favorite to date FM, but then again, tuff to pick a favorite when it comes to your haiku! Perfect entry all the way around.

Hi,
Gorgeous landscaping, really stunning the way they have done the palm trees, and perfect Haiku to go with it all as well. 🙂
I’ve always wanted to visit Versailles and find something calming in well tended gardens ~ it’s like a different world. Quite utopian. I like your photo alot; I had no idea that palms were part of the gardens!
Unnaturally beautiful, like some of the photos I’ve seen of Dubai. Some of them are even scary.
I too didn’t realize they had palm trees or that is was that big! Thanks for showing that, it’s beautiful.
France looks really beautiful and peaceful country. Cool.
Perfect! …and the words are so true 🙂
I like the fact that you chose(?) to not shoot this from a perfect angle. Makes the picture more interesting 🙂
Excellent response to the prompt!
I am so envious…I have always wanted to travel to France…and lots of other places in Europe ! Thanks for sharing.
Peace,

Fantastic shot… Love it. 😉
Beautiful photo and perfect haiku to complement~ 🙂
C’est si beau!
good pov unatural nature-it scares me sometimes
Wonderful shot showing us the artifice of a man-made garden, which is lovely in its own way.
And away from Versailles the French countryside at that time was a poor mess.
‘Unnatural nature’ is a good find.
Stunning photo! 🙂
well, Versailles is a landmark!
Rigid symmetry = Unnatural nature
something sick in those goals …
We ended up at this palace a few years ago, biking from the Dordogne back to the UK. Got lost on the périphérique around Paris. No time to visit then, so it’s nice to see a bit of what we missed.
It is a pretty shot, but I agree with your haiku.
Some things arranged “on purpose” are wonderful like this.
Others can be – well – not so good!
This is amazing!

Great capture – and I love your haiku.
Outstanding example of “Arranged.” Taught me something, too. Didn’t know that that they used potted palms at Versailles! I wonder if they did in the “Let them eat cake” days?
very nice capture from up there!
Wonderful! I’m hoping to make it to Versailles later this year.
…well said and well shown!!!
Me again… 🙂
I nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award. Congrats and well deserved! 🙂

wow, perfectly arranged! Can’t beat that…
Great photo for this week’s challenge! I love the reflections of trees and the way the angle at which the arrangements recede toward the horizon… Nice haiku as well – “unnatural nature” is a fantastic line! 🙂
Wonderful choice for “arranged”, as Versailles and its grounds are so often honored for the symmetries found there! I really enjoyed this new perspective on the esteemed and admired gardens of Versailles!
Great entry of arrangement my friend, perfect shot 🙂

Excellent Challenge photo. ‘Rigid symmetry’….hmmm; you will notice there is some organic movement in the design (the half circles design)? But, yes, it is all arranged and unnatural, unless you come across, say, an aspen grove or similar. 😀
I love the line ‘unnatural nature’. I am sure it took some effort to contain…for nature never really wants to be.
What a wonderful experience, to visit Versailles, all the same!
