This is another photomanipulation to digitally convert a photo into the likeness of an old Japanese woodblock print. The last one I did was posted back in October, and I was tempted to try another one. The original photo of this Steller’s Jay was taken at Bryce Canyon National Park. The description of the image is in English and Japanese (along the right side of the image).
I’m posting this photo for the “J” Challenge by Frizztext (“J” is for Jay and Japanese).
Other photomanipulations in the woodblock print style:
Photoshop hit.
Greetings to you

Beautiful! Just curious to the original as well though 😉
I like how he is looking at me. They are curious birds. Great job!
Perfectly lovely!
Nice print and excellent choice for ‘J’.
I love what you did to the photo. It looks like a drawing!
NIce, I still can’t figure out how you are doing that!!
Thank your for sharing Japanese woodblock. When I was a child, I used to gather stamps printed old woodblock. Nostalgic.
OUTSTANDING! Might be my favorite to date. Margie
You are brilliant!
This is wonderful. I lived out that way for a couple years and the Steller’s jays were a favorite of mine. Bryce Canyon, of course, is beyond gorgeous. I loved how you turned this into a woodblock.
Nice. That’s a great effect – it DOES look like an old woodblock print. Is that effect through Flickr? Photoshop? ????
Photoshop Elements! Thanks!

It looks like a real Japanese woodblock print 🙂

This could easily win a stamp-contest.
It is a very pretty picture.
Serene, delicate and very beautiful!
Beautifully drawn… 🙂
I love how this turned out, it makes me want to learn more about my photoshop.
The bird’s expression is thoughtful…meditating on the future? Great!

Simply beautiful! 🙂
aloha Fergiemoto – beautiful altering and photo-painting/manipulation. i also like the way your haiku breaks into two phrase parts (2 lines in one phrase with 1 line in the other) – juxtaposing one phrase with the other. that strengthens and simplifies the ku (imo). way cool.
It is a success! That bird….lovely.
Every year we get Stellar Jays in and below the apple trees in the back yard near to where Ethel has her feeders. Every year that visitation(s) is one of the highlights of the year. What a beautiful bird–and woodcut print.
Another challenge met beautifully!
