Docile and charming
Infusing a calm vision.
A dazzling secret!

The outer wings of these Flicker birds (woodpecker family) are mostly neutral in color. But the lining of their wings and tail are quite a contrast with their vibrant orange/red color! They are beautiful to see in flight! (I also think we need some larger bird feeders!)

Weekly Photo Challenge….not sure if it is you that is challenged or the Flicker Birds? Fun and nice images
So very creative as always!
Love your interpretation.
Docile, charming, calm and dazzling work! I get such a pleasant and hopeful feeling from them…
What amazing shots!
Love the shot you have of the one with open wings. You can get some idea of the detail of the wings in that photo. We see these birds a lot. Their colours are incredibly strong at this time of year – probably wanting to get some attention. Well, it is spring!!!!!
How pretty! I love their colors. They look huge too. 🙂
Such beautiful colours on the undersides of the wings. I love the poem!

Greetings to you
Wow FM, great captures and challenge photo!
lovely shots!
These photos are lovely!
Hi,
Really magnificent colours in the birds, I love the apricot on the wing span in the second photo, very pretty, great photos.
Wow their colors are amazing!!! Great capture!
Wonderful how you met this “contrast” photo challenge. Not only are the under and over wing colors quite in contrast, but the actions of the two birds in the first “snap” are quite in contrast in that captured brief moment!
fantastic images
Beautiful
Great captures of these beautiful birds. We have the yellow-shafted Flickers here.
Beautiful shots!!! Great for contrast too.. Lovely bird!
Beautiful; birds!
Fantastic photos – always a pleasure!
always beautiful photos….. I love to see your work. The Flickers are gorgeous…and what a perfect interpretation of Contrast. bravo!
PS…I love the capture in the first photo with the second Flicker flying away! Wow..nice!
So cool!
WoW…have never seen anything like the lining on the wings in these photos…

Wow..I have never had a flicker come to a seed or suet feeder. That is remarkable. Given that they are insect eaters, I can see how they could like the suet, but the seeds..amazing…You showed off the detail of the feathers so well. Great addition to Nature Notes..Thank you…Michelle
beautiful – thank you for sharing
They are very beautiful and lovely.
The bird in flight… that must have been a real challenge.
Beautiful images, but the second one is my favourite (lovely colours).
Wow – these are amazing! Sometimes nature is so beautiful that it seems like a fantasy – well done =)
great bird action!

Beautiful – wonderfully captured! 🙂
These are great photos and beautiful birds!!!
Very good photos.
Regards and best wishes
Spectacular images, strange, I usually see flickers feeding on the ground!
Truly creative work! You do need larger bird feeders.
Great photos! Woodpeckers are so colourful! We have a couple who visit our garden every now and then. Haven’t got any photos of them yet…
Wow!! I have never seen the inner wings like that! They are gorgeous!!
I’m always thrilled to see the woodpeckers at my feeders…but don’t think I’ve ever had Flickers.
Beautiful photographs and perfectly lovely caption!
Stunning photo’s!!
Breathtaking photos! I, too, am afflicted with the “shutterbug” fascination. Sigh….I have a camera practically glued to my side. ‘Tis a heavy weight to bear but the artistry brings joy.
Your haiku’s bring a smile. Exceptional use of our colorful, rich English.
Keep it up!
