I took this photo in the mid-1990s.  This is a photo of an actual room near the tomb of Vincent Van Gogh in Auvers-sur-Oise, France.  These are red shoes nailed to the walls and ceilings, and in the lower left part of the photo, there is a sideways painting of some flowers in a vase.  I don’t know the meaning behind this display and have been intrigued with it ever since I looked into this room.  Distorted episode?  Distorted thinking? Does anyone know?

  1. What a wonderful and as you say intriguing photo. It looks more like a painting than photo. Good choice. Still working on mine. Going through archive.

    BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!

  2. I don’t think any explanation is necessary. The fact that it’s not clear what the display is about, makes it even more intriguing. I think the way your processed the picture really added to its expressive force. I can just keep looking at and never get tired. A great photo.

  3. As if someone nailed shoes all over the place and then sat imagining he or she was there inspecting every little corner of the room. Our truth is distorted anyway, so why not?! Nice one!
