This cute western scrub jay has at least two successes to celebrate. It seems to cope very well even with a deformed foot, and after several attempts, managed to fit two peanuts in its mouth and flew away. Also, it has always visited us with a partner.
its probably got something to do with storing the food for approaching winter but it its attempt is funny at the same time 🙂
Nice shot !!
Yay little scrub jay! Lovely haiku as always my friend. Margie
I like the lines and the photo very much. We have only blue jays here in Maine.
Wonderful! Excellent shot:o)

Hi,
A lovely photo, such a pretty bird. It did do well to get the 2 peanuts together, not an easy task I should imagine. 🙂

brilliant & cheerful – thank you for sharing this uplifting post!
Awesome shot!
Perhaps the partner is female and pregnant… lots to celebrate. 😉
TY for your patience as I have been adjusting to a changed schedule … Glad to comment again. 🙂
This is just lovely!
In the MS community we have a quote which says
“Never give up
Never give in”
I think the beautiful picture of this little scrub jay would go very well with it.
The haiku is lovely, I am starting to look at this form; very interesting

Beautiful! I love this picture. 🙂
Beautiful capture! Looks like this little guy is saving up for the winter months.
oh wow, awesome pic and tale… I love this, I once had a one legged mockingbird called “lone Star the one legged mockingbird.” I found him at the local Dairy Queen and took it home and kept it two years, it had a tangling foot and a broke wing when I got him and after awhile he just flew out sid and back in till one day it flew away and never returned as it should be, two years later. We set bird food out and it came and ate but never flew back into the house. This post brought back those memories. (~_~)
Exquisite photo and clever haiku!
hard earned meal
I’m really glad, if animals have a reason to celebrate!
He has such beautiful colouring. Lovely image and words.
This scrub jay says to me, “Let not a missing part hold back your heart from its dearest treasures, nor your mind from all it can accomplish if only YOU will!” Thank you for just boundless inspiration with this gorgeous post.
They actually fit in! Working hard pays off!

A photo that celebrates our triumphs against all odds, of overcoming the obstacles so we can reach our goals. The bird reminds me of people who despite of what others considered as weakness became a model of inspiration for others because of their courage and perseverance.Wonderful post. Happy Holidays. May you and your family be blessed with love , happiness , peace and good health.
Magnificent blue
